Most payment issues on Envato Market are caused by mismatched account details, bank restrictions on international or overseas transactions, or currency conversion — this guide covers the most common problems and how to resolve each one.
Envato Market accepts payments via PayPal and credit card (Visa, Mastercard, and American Express in USD).
I got an error when paying for an item. What should I do?
- Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try the transaction again.
- Try a different device, such as your smartphone.
- Check that your billing details match — your Envato account email should be the same as the email linked to your PayPal account.
- Try an alternative payment method — Envato Market accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express (USD only), and PayPal. See our full guide on accepted payment methods.
- Contact your bank — they may be declining the transaction due to restrictions on your card.
- Check for international transaction blocks — since Envato is Australia-based, some card issuers block overseas payments by default until you approve them directly with your bank.
- Still stuck? Contact our Customer Success team and we'll investigate.
I purchased an item hours ago, but it's not showing on my account yet. What's happening?
Most payments process instantly, but delays can occasionally happen — often due to the funding source. Bank transfers, for example, can take a few days to process.
If you didn't use a bank transfer and your purchase still isn't showing, contact our Customer Success Team with:
- The payment provider used (PayPal or credit card)
- Your Envato Market username
- The email address linked to PayPal (if applicable)
- The transaction ID for the payment
- Any other receipt information related to the transaction
My PayPal or funding source isn't in US dollars — who handles the conversion?
All Envato Market transactions process in US dollars. If your PayPal account or funding source uses a different currency, your payment provider may apply a conversion fee. Learn more from PayPal's guide on paying in another currency.
I got an email about a payment dispute and now can't log in — what happened?
This typically means a transaction has been disputed — an item was purchased, but Envato hasn't received the payment. Learn more about what happens when your account is locked, or contact Envato Market Help for assistance.
PayPal or my card issuer won't accept my payment — what can I do?
Envato has no control over what PayPal or your card-issuing bank accepts as valid. If your payment keeps failing, you'll need to contact PayPal or your bank directly for further help.
I see an unauthorized payment to Envato Market on my statement — what happened?
This may indicate your financial information has been used fraudulently. Unfortunately, Envato can't block future payments if someone else already has valid access to your card or PayPal details — these transactions are managed by PayPal or your bank, not by us.
Contact PayPal or your bank immediately to report the fraudulent activity, stop further payments, and get guidance on next steps.
I need help identifying an Envato Market charge on my statement
Contact our Customer Success team with the following, and we'll help you identify it:
- Payment provider used (PayPal, or credit card type — Visa, Mastercard, or American Express)
- Email address linked to the PayPal transaction (if applicable)
- Transaction ID for the PayPal payment (if applicable)
- Last 4 digits of the credit card (if applicable)
- Date of the payment
- Any other receipt details related to the transaction
Why was my payment blocked due to restrictions?
Governments, banks, and payment providers like PayPal enforce sanctions and regulations that prohibit transactions with certain high-risk countries, individuals, or organizations. If your payment is flagged this way, it can't be completed. Learn more about these restrictions.
How do I request a refund for a purchased item?
Envato Market generally offers refunds only when an item is broken, malfunctioning, corrupt, or doesn't work as described. Learn how to request a refund.
Note: Opening a payment dispute or chargeback will not speed up your refund request — and may delay it further.
