This usually means a setup step was missed during install — check that Global Kit Styles are loaded, your page layout is set correctly, and your server/plugins aren't blocking image imports.
Before troubleshooting, confirm your kit was installed correctly via How to Upload & Install Elementor Template Kits from Envato — specifically that:
- Hello Elementor theme is active.
- Your kit's required plugins are loaded and active (Tools > Template Kit).
- Global Kit Styles were installed.
Why are my fonts and colors showing as defaults instead of the kit's styles?
This means Global Kit Styles haven't loaded, or Elementor's own defaults are overriding them.
- Go to Elementor > Settings and check that "Disable default fonts" and "Disable default colors" are enabled.
- Go to Tools > Template Kit, click Import Template (or Import Again) on Global Kit Styles, then reopen your page.
Why does my layout look squished or boxed in?
This usually means your theme lacks full-width content support, the page layout setting is wrong, or (for Elementor Pro) a global template has incorrect conditions.
- Click the gear icon in the Elementor toolbar to open Page Settings.
- Set Page Layout to Elementor Full Width.
Still boxed?
- Go to Appearance > Themes and confirm Hello Elementor is active — if this fixes it, either stick with Hello Elementor or try another Elementor-built theme.
- On Elementor Pro, if the layout appears to load inside another template while previewing directly (rather than inserted into a page), check your Single Post template conditions: go to Templates > Theme Builder, click Edit Conditions, and ensure the condition is set to Posts (not All Singular), then Save & Close.
Why are my kit's images missing or showing placeholders?
This is usually a hosting limitation — such as file size limits, folder permissions, restrictive script settings, or a plugin conflict (especially caching or image optimization plugins) — preventing images from transferring into your WordPress media library.
Check your plugins:
- Go to Plugins and update everything.
- Deactivate all plugins except Elementor/Elementor Pro and the Envato Elements plugin, then go to Tools > Template Kit and click Install Requirements to reactivate only your kit's required plugins.
- Fixed it? You'll need to troubleshoot your other plugins' configuration, or reactivate them later once your kit has imported successfully.
Check your server limits: server limitations are the most common cause of import failures, usually from an unoptimized PHP setup. Go to Elementor > System Info and confirm your server meets Elementor's minimum requirements.
Workaround: Template Kits are primarily page layouts, meant to be customized with your own images — this is required if you don't have an Envato Elements subscription for the premium photos used in the kit. If missing images are your only remaining issue, check the kit's item page for an image collection URL, usually listed at the end of the description, and upload those images to WordPress manually.
