Visitors located in the European Union are presented with a cookie banner which allows them to manage their preferences with the preferences panel. Depending on which site they visit, they may be presented with different options.
Types of Cookie Banners
There are two types of banners a user may see when visiting one of our Envato sites. A banner will be presented to the EU users only when first visiting our site.
Interactive Banner
An interactive banner informs the visitor about the type of cookies they’ll encounter when visiting our sites and allows the user to manage their cookie preferences. The banner will disappear when a visitor interacts with the banner or clicks on any content within the site.
The banner wording and full list of domains this applies to can be found here
Informational Banner
An informational banner informs the visitor about the type of cookies they’ll encounter when visiting our site but does not allow the user to manage their cookie preferences. The banner will remain visible until the visitor clicks ‘ok’.
The banner wording and full list of domains this applies to can be found here
Can a Visitor Change Their Consent at a Later Date?
Interactive Banner Sites
Yes, EU visitors can update their consent preferences at any time. To change their preferences, visitors need to clear their cookies within their browser in order for the cookie banner to reappear and allow them to update their preferences.
Informational Banner Sites
As we will only present an information banner to visitors for these sites, cookie preferences can only be managed via their browser.
How Do I Change My Cookie Preferences

“Hi <Customer name>,
Thanks for contacting [Insert relevant site/Brand] support!
I understand that you would like to know how to manage your Cookies on Envato websites.The information below may help you out;
Manage your cookie preferences and settingsPlease keep in mind that your experience may not be as we intended if you change the standard settings.
Visitors located in the European Union can manage their preferences with the preferences panel that appears when they visit our sites. Visitors located in the European Union can select their preferences with the preferences panel and can change their preferences by clearing their cookies, refreshing the page, and selecting their preferences again.

Domain Level
Visitors located in the European Union can manage their preferences with the preferences panel that appears when they visit our sites.
To manage your preferences for sites such as our help centres, users will need to adjust them at a browser level as the notification is provided is an informational banner and does not provide the user with an option to manage their cookie preferences in-app.
Blocking Third-Party Cookies
Users may attempt to block third-party cookies within their browser settings. Some browsers (currently Safari & Firefox) may block these cookies by default. Doing so will allow them to easily manage their cookie preferences but using a blanket rule to block all third-party cookies will mean that they will be asked to allow cookies for every Envato domain name that they visit.
What Happens If a Visitor Does Not Select an Option?
If a user does not select which cookies they agree to the banner will remain visible until they either click ‘ok’, or interact in any way with the site - such as click on something.
This means a user will accept our default settings - all categories pre-ticked.

Hi <Customer name>

Why Am I Being Asked For Consent Again?
There are a couple of reasons that a visitor would be asked for consent more than once;
- We have two banners.
- We are rolling out our cookie management across our domains in batches, so some people may still see cookies on one site domain but not another. This does mean that a visitor might be asked to confirm their preferences more than once.
- Batch 1 April; Interactive banner ie. sites, account.envato, author.envato
- Batch 2 June; Interactive banner ie. market, elements, studio, extensions
- Batch 3 July; Informational banner ie. tuts, envato.com, help centres, preview.net
- If a visitor has disabled 3rd party cookies through their browser they will be asked separately for each of our sites they visit. Some browsers (currently Safari & Firefox) may block these cookies by default.
For example: If they visit themeforest.net they will be asked and if they then subsequently visit elements.envato.com they will be asked for consent again. In contrast to this, with 3rd party cookies enabled, once the rollout is completed across all sites, they will only be asked when they visit themeforest.net, then when they visit elements.envato.com it will automatically follow the same consent selections as the user made for themeforest.net (if they use the same web browser) - You are using multiple browsers or multiple computers, consent is stored in your browser on one computer. For each browser you use on each different computer you will be asked for consent.
- You have cleared cookies (some browsers do this when you exit, others like Safari may only keep cookies for a short time, e.g. 1-7 days), consent is stored in a cookie on your browser. If you or your browser deletes the cookie, you will be asked for consent again.
Suggested Response For Case 2
“ Hi <Customer name>
Thanks for contacting [Insert relevant site/Brand] support!
We are currently rolling out Cookie management across our domains and are doing so in batches. This means that you may be asked to confirm your preferences on more than one of our sites.
Once we have completed the rollout this will not happen.
Kind regards, “
Suggested Response For Cases 3, 4, 5
“ Hi <Customer name>
Thanks for contacting [Insert relevant site/Brand] support!
Our cookie management system stores your consent selections in your web browser and uses a central domain to allow you to share your consent across all of our sites. This means that if you use multiple web browsers or multiple computers you will be asked for consent when you first use each of them. Additionally, if you disable 3rd party cookies, or use a browser that disables 3rd party cookies, we are unable to share your consent between our sites and you will be asked separately for each one of them you visit.
Kind regards, “
Why can I still see cookies in use?
This could be for a few reasons...
They’re visiting an Informational banner site
They’ve visited a domain which only serves an informational banner; cookies are still present. The user will need to manage their cookie preferences through their browser.
They’re seeing GA cookies on Market / EnvatovElements prior to choosing preferences
We load Google Analytics cookies on Market and Envato Elements prior to choosing preferences. This means there may be a brief period a user could detect these cookies prior to choosing preferences. If you receive any queries about this, please escalate to Legal.
We haven’t finished the rollout
We are currently in the process of rolling out our cookie management across our domains, this is being completed in batches so a user may still see cookies on site domain but not another. This does mean that the user might be asked to confirm your preferences more than once.
They Visited Our Sites Before Cookiebot Rolled Out
If a user has visited one of our sites prior to the implementation of the cookie consent banner, they may see older cookies in their browser. These cookies are no longer valid and can’t be read by Envato. A user can remove them by clearing their cookies within their browser settings.
