The license you need depends on the type of Envato item you're using in your video — stock footage, motion graphics, sound effects, video templates, or music. Here's the breakdown for each.
Which license do I need for stock footage and motion graphics?
Choose between Single Use and Multi-Use:
- Single Use — if you're only making one video for one client.
- Multi-Use — if you're using the same stock footage across different videos.
Which license do I need for After Effects and video templates?
Choose between Regular and Extended:
- Extended License — required if people need to pay to see your video, or if it will be broadcast or distributed and you'll receive payment for it.
- Regular License — fine if the video is an advertisement or will be viewed for free.
Which license do I need for sound effects?
Choose between Single Use and Multi-Use:
- Single Use — if you're making one video for one client.
- Multi-Use — if you're using the same sound effect across different videos.
Which license do I need for music?
Music items on AudioJungle use five dedicated license tiers, based on your audience size and how the video will be distributed:
| License | TV/Radio Broadcast Audience | Copies/Downloads | Film |
|---|---|---|---|
| Music Standard | Not permitted | Up to 10,000 | Indie film & festival |
| Music Broadcast (1 Million) | Up to 1 million | Up to 10,000 | Indie film & festival |
| Music Mass Reproduction | Up to 1 million | Unlimited | Indie film & festival |
| Music Broadcast (10 Million) | Up to 10 million | Unlimited | Indie film & festival |
| Music Broadcast & Film | Unlimited | Unlimited | Theatrically released film |
All five license tiers cover most common web uses (e.g., YouTube), so if your video is only going online, Music Standard is usually sufficient. You'll need a higher tier only if your video will also be broadcast on TV/radio, distributed as physical or downloadable copies beyond 10,000 units, or shown in a theatrically released film.
You can upgrade or downgrade your license later if your distribution plans change. See the full AudioJungle Music License terms for complete details.
