Envato Market is a marketplace where you buy individual creative and code assets — website themes, plugins, video templates, stock footage, music, graphics, and more. Every item is created by an independent author, priced by that author, and comes with its own license.
Ready to browse? Head to ThemeForest or any of the marketplaces below.
Where Envato Market items live
Envato Market is made up of seven marketplaces, each built around a different type of asset:
| Marketplace | What you'll find there |
|---|---|
| ThemeForest | Website themes and templates — WordPress, Shopify, HTML, and more |
| CodeCanyon | PHP scripts, plugins, and application code (WordPress, JavaScript, mobile, and more) |
| VideoHive | Stock footage, motion graphics, and video project files (e.g. After Effects) |
| AudioJungle | Royalty-free music tracks and sound effects |
| GraphicRiver | Graphic templates, Photoshop files, vectors, icon sets, and design add-ons |
| PhotoDune | Royalty-free stock photography |
| 3DOcean | 3D models, textures, materials, and renders |
One Envato account and one cart carry across all seven — you can add items from ThemeForest and AudioJungle to the same order, for example.
Buying an item
- Find an item. Browse or search a marketplace and open an item's page to check its preview, description, ratings, and author.
- Add it to your order. Use Buy Now to go straight to checkout with one item, or Add to Cart to gather several items into one order.
- Choose a license. Every item requires a license at checkout — the option you pick determines how you're allowed to use it (details below).
- Pay. Complete checkout with a supported payment method for your region.
- Download. Get the item from your account's Downloads page, where your invoices, license certificates, and purchase codes are also kept.
How licensing works
Each item you buy comes with its own license, scoped to one end product. Most categories offer two tiers:
- Regular License — covers an end product that end users don't pay to access (a portfolio site, a free app, a client site the public browses for free).
- Extended License — required when end users pay, or pay a subscription, to access the end product the item is part of (a paid membership site, a product you sell that incorporates the item).
A single license doesn't stretch across multiple end products — a new project typically needs its own purchase. Music, sound effects, and video items use their own license structures that already account for both free and paid uses.
For the full legal terms, see the Envato Market License Terms and Envato Market User Terms. If you're unsure which tier your project needs, see Which Envato Market License Do I Need?.
What's a purchase code?
Buying an item generates a purchase code — a unique identifier for that specific purchase, found on your license certificate (from your Downloads page or your purchase confirmation email). It's used to verify your license, unlock update mechanisms on some WordPress themes and plugins, and register for author-provided item support.
Getting help with an item
Item-level support — troubleshooting, customization questions, compatibility — comes from the author who made it, not from Envato directly. Support terms vary by author, and some sell extended support as an add-on, so check an item's page before buying to see what's offered. For account, billing, or platform issues (like a failed payment or trouble accessing a past purchase), you can speak to Envato Market Customer Success Team.
Common questions
-
Do I need an account to buy something?
Yes — an Envato account is required to purchase and download items.
-
How much do items cost?
Pricing is set individually by each author, so it varies by item and by license tier.

Which license do I need?
