As of October 2025, ThemeForest no longer offers free WordPress themes. If you downloaded a free theme before then, you can keep using it, but it won't receive further updates or support.
Why did Envato discontinue free WordPress themes?
Free themes couldn't receive ongoing updates or support, which increased the risk of compatibility and security issues over time. Discontinuing the free theme program helps ensure every item on ThemeForest meets consistent standards for quality, security, and ongoing maintenance.
What does this mean if I already downloaded a free theme?
- You can continue using any free theme you previously downloaded.
- No further updates or support are included for these themes going forward.
- For a supported, actively maintained option, browse the full range of WordPress themes on ThemeForest instead.
